Improve skin texture and firmness with increased collagen production
Looking for a minimally invasive way to rejuvenate your skin? Microneedling is the answer. A device with fine needles penetrates the skin to create a controlled skin injury, inducing the wound healing process. This stimulates collagen and elastin production, eliminating damaged skin and revealing healthy, firmer skin.
What conditions does microneedling improve?
- Acne (severe cases treated in combination with Laser/IPL)
- Large pores
- Milia (white cysts)
- Stretch marks
- Melasma (brown spots)
- Sagging skin
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Hard to treat areas, like wrinkles around eyes or mouth
- Sagging upper and/or lower eyelids
- Vitiligo (loss of skin color)
- Hyperpigmentation (darkening of skin) on lower legs due to vein insufficiency and/or erysipelas (bacterial infection of skin)
What can I expect during treatment?
At Luminous You, we exclusively use the Dermapen® device for microneedling. The compact and adjustable device moves 12 microscopic, surgical grade stainless steel needles in a quick, vertical up-and-down motion, creating more comfort and less recovery time. This procedure is safe for all skin colors and types, anywhere on the face and body, and can easily treat small or hard-to-reach areas, like around the eyes and the sides of nose.
Each treatment takes about 90 minutes. We ensure your comfort by applying a topical numbing cream before treatment. The number of sessions required will depend on your unique skin condition, with 3-5 being the norm. 4-6 weeks between procedures is recommended, with ongoing maintenance sessions done a few times per year, depending on each client’s goal and condition.
What can I expect after treatment?
There is little downtime with our microneedling procedures. Healing time will depend on your unique skin condition. Clients may see improvement/results after just one session, but often several treatments are necessary. Slight reddening and peeling of the treated area may occur within 24 hours after treatment. In rare cases, minor pinpoint bleeding may occur, depending on the depth of the adjustable needle. Even the smallest microneedling treatments will enhance your skin’s appearance.
